City Groups
City Groups are small gatherings in homes around the Shoals: dinner on the table, honest conversation, people praying for each other by name.
Groups launch October 4. You can sign up now, or say so on a connect card and we’ll get you in one.

Who we are
River City is led by a team of pastors rather than a single personality. We think that's healthier for everyone.
What we believe, the short version
There is one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus is God. He lived a real life, died Christians believe Jesus took on himself the punishment for wrongdoing that belonged to us, so that we could be forgiven., and rose again.
The Holy Spirit is at work in ordinary people, right now.
The Bible is God’s word, and it gets the final say.

Serve
A church in a school gym runs on people who show up early and stay late. Setup, kids, music, the front door. Some people would rather build something than attend something. This is for them.

Give
Giving is how the people of River City cover what it takes to operate, support our ministry partners, and serve our neighbors across the Shoals. It's for the folks who call this place home. It is never the point of a first visit.

River City Church
We believe there is one God that has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These Three are co-equal and co-eternal. It is in God that we live and exist. We worship God with reverence and with joy.
We confess that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life and gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. Through the shedding of His blood on the cross, He satisfied the righteous wrath of God, secured eternal redemption, granted the forgiveness of sins, and brought us into the family of God as sons and daughters. By His death He conquered the powers of darkness. He rose bodily on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He now intercedes on behalf of the saints.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. His primary ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts unbelievers of sin and their need for Christ, and brings about regeneration (the new birth), granting spiritual life. He indwells every believer, sanctifying, guiding, illuminating God’s truth, and empowering them for godly living and faithful service. Following conversion, the Spirit desires to fill, empower, gift, and anoint believers for ministry and witness in ways that always exalt Christ and align with the teachings of Scripture.
We believe that God created humanity, male and female, in His own image as the crown of His creation, designed to glorify Him and to enjoy fellowship with Him. Yet, through the temptation of Satan, humanity rebelled against God. Because of this rebellion, all people are now sinners by nature and by choice, deserving God’s just wrath and condemnation, and wholly unable to save themselves apart from His grace.
We believe that the gospel is the good news of all that God has accomplished for sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Centered wholly in Christ, the gospel is the foundation of the Church, the power of God for salvation, and our only hope for eternal life. It is not only the message by which sinners are redeemed but also the means by which believers are sanctified and transformed. We affirm that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that salvation comes through believing this gospel and placing our faith in Jesus as Lord over all.
We believe that the Holy Scriptures, comprising the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, are the written Word of God. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in their original manuscripts, the Scriptures reveal God’s perfect will for the salvation of humanity. They stand as the Church’s supreme and final authority in all matters of doctrine, faith, and life.
